The City of Buffalo manages the water and sewer systems and contracts out the garbage disposal services. It provides billing services for these three utilities.

Water and Sewer Services

City Of Buffalo Water

All City residential and business customers pay each month for water used.
City provides enrollment for Air EVAC, EMS membership. Member is $5.00, billed on water bill every month.

Residential sewer gallons charged for all usage.
Commercial sewer charged for all gallons used with no cut-off.

Garbage Service

City Of Buffalo Utilities

All monthly residential charge for garbage pickup is $14.34 with a cart. This service is contracted with Progressive Waste. There is one pickup per week per account, on Thursday. Only Progressive Waste carts can be used and all garbage must be bagged. Only household garbage is accepted.

Dumpster service is provided by the garbage contractor.

The post office handles all delivery of mail and packages in the City of Buffalo. Please contact them about any change of address or missing packages.

Payment Methods

City Of Buffalo City Hall

The City of Buffalo accepts payments for water/sewer/garbage only at Buffalo City Hall. Payments may be made by the following methods:

Regular mail: P. O. Box 219, Buffalo, Texas 75831

Drive Through: Window located at City Hall at 144 Avant Street. Open Monday through Friday, except some designated holidays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

After Hours/Night Depository – Located at the drive-through window on the side of the City Hall Building.

Payment Due Dates

Utility billing due dates: Utility bills are due between the 1st and 15th of each month. A 10% late charge is added to the bill, after the 15th of each month, if unpaid. Disconnection of service on the 21st if the bill remains unpaid. A $40.00 fee is charged for reconnection of service.

We accept credit cards with 3% convenience fee added.

-Water Tap Fee - $500.00
-Sewer Tap Fee - $450.00
-Street Crossing Fee (Taps) - $200.00 Bulk Water - $24.00 per 1000 gals.
Deposit Fees:
- Residential Homeowner - $50.00
- Residential Renter - $150.00
- Commercial - $150.00
Fire Protection:
The Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department provides fire protection for Buffalo.
